Product Manager

Beckman Coulter develops, manufactures and markets products that simplify, automate and innovate complex biomedical testing. Our diagnostic systems are found in hospitals and other critical care settings around the world and produce information used by physicians to diagnose disease, make treatment decisions and monitor patients. Instruments for life science research are used by scientists as they study complex biological problems including the causes of disease, identify new therapies, and test new drugs. Manages the development and implementation of the strategic marketing plan for one or more specific products in a market area within a business unit. Having excellent understanding of the market and customer dynamics, the incumbent develops primary product positioning, pricing strategies, product commercialization and launch strategies; market research and product obsolescence planning; ensures products are leveraged based on opportunity; initiates and analyzes market research; and participates as a team member in planning new products.

Job description:

• Guides marketing activities, including research & development, communications, product life cycle management, and applications support.
• Oversees product positioning, pricing, commercialization and launch strategies.
• Undertakes market research and product obsolescence planning; participates in business development negotiations and due diligence for potential acquisitions and partnerships. Focus for this position is management of current Flow Cytometry instrument portfolio and development of future systems. Tasks will include primary market research, gathering Voice of Customer and product definition. Qualifications/Experience:
• BS in Biological Sciences mandatory; or MBA ideal.
• Product Manager candidates need 3+ years marketing experience. Product development and new product introduction experience is beneficial. Experience managing flow cytometry antibodies or commoditized products and sales will be at an advantage.

Having excellent understanding of the confocal and non-confocal laser scanning microscopy, the imaging market and customer dynamics, the incumbent develops primary product positioning, pricing strategies, product commercialization and launch strategies; market research and product obsolescence planning; ensures products are leveraged based on opportunity; initiates and analyzes market research; and participates as a team member in planning new products.

Job Description:

Qualifications/Experience:
• Candidate will ideally have a PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of marketing or a Masters degree with 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of marketing or a Bachelor´s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of marketing. In addition, all candidates must have 3+ years of imaging research experience. An MBA will be preferred. Product development and new product introduction experience is beneficial. Experience in flow cytometry will be at an advantage.
